Top Ten Viral Videos Feb 5-11 2011
As I continue to find viral videos, I am trying to see what they all have in common. What makes a video turn viral? What are the elements in the video that make people want to share them with a friend, coworker, stranger, etc? Common trend in these top ten videos would be that: videos must be entertaining, unique, and catch the attention of the viewer right away. I would highly recommend to watch all ten videos. Ninja cracks me up!
Just for Fun
I do not believe these have the full potential to be viral videos, although they have made it to wimp.com which is a very popular site for hilarious vidoes, just now always the capacity for viral vidoes.

Is that real life????
http://www.wimp.com/thispossible/ This is a video that I highly recommend watching. My brother is an avid wimp participant and shared this video with me. It is a 23 year old, Iya Traore who has extreme talent. This is a video that was found on wimp.com but I belive will continue to gain high traffic. He is wearing a nike sweatshirt when the video ends. I was impressed that after a minute of watching he was even still supporting himself let alone still in compete control of the soccer ball. I am impressed. DO NOT PASS this video up!

"Don't call it a viral video"
Class was truly entertaining today and really opened my eyes to how social networks are truly affecting the world we live in today. There is the opportunity to connect, communicate, and form relationships world wide, due to the digital world. The opportunities are endless and this is why I believe viral ads are so interesting, because not only are they entertaining but the ad is entertaining to millions of people in such a short period of time. I am going to try to look into the ads we saw in class today and add them to the blog for everyone else to enjoy :)
Like Prof. Wilson said do not ever CALL IT A VIRAL VIDEO. I am still a big fan of Jennifer Aniston, but come on just let Keenan Cahill do his thing!
This just makes me laugh :)

I'm Addicted
Well it is day one of finding viral videos and I am completely entertained. This was a video that I believe stands out between many top viral videos of 2010. The ad agency, Conscious Minds Productions put together a video with 2,270 still photos to make a stop-motion-film. It was entertaining to feel as if you were walking along with the man with the Levi pants on.
Viral Ads of the Day
This viral video by Nike got millions of views within the first week. Also provided a great awareness for the FIFA 2010 World Cup.
I had seen this video when I was studying abroad and fell in love with how passionate these men are in the video. It was a video done by Puma to play off the fact that many major matches were occurring on Valentine's day. When the men would have to choose between their two loves of their lives, the game and their girl.

My Digital Identity
As a student of the digital world I believe it is important to understand the different aspects of viral advertising. I have joined the social networking arena becoming a member of various sites including Twitter, Facebook, Blogger and Linkedin. My Klout score is 20, I am an explorer activily engaged in the social web and I have 43 followers on twitter. I have been involved with facebook for four years and have become very knowledgable in the various aspects facebook has to offer. I began using blogger in order to blog about my experience studying abroad in Florence, Italy in spring 2010. I had people that followed my blog and commented on my many adventures. I am going to strive to increase my presence on both twitter and Linkedin. These are the two social networks that I feel have many opportunities for my career after college. I look forward to enhancing my digital identity in all avenues of social network.
